Food Network, Top Chef Stars To Highlight Palm Desert Festival

Television chefs will appear at the Food + Wine Festival in Palm Desert, an event spokeswoman said today.
The chefs will make presentations and give cooking demonstrations at the festival, slated for March 23-25, spokeswoman Lydia Kremer said.
Participants include Alejandra Schrader, finalist on Fox's "Master Chef'' with Gordon Ramsay; Mark Peel, "Top Chef'' master and owner of Campanile and Tar Pit restaurants in the Los Angeles area; Adam Gertler, finalist on "The Next Food Network Star,'' host of "Will Work for Food,'' and "Food Network Challenge: All Star Grill Off''; Chris Crary, "Top Chef Texas'' competitor and chef at Whist Restaurant in Santa Monica; and Jill Davie, "Iron Chef'' competitor.
The 2012 Food + Wine Festival will begin March 23 with a lunch with James Beard Award-winning chefs.
On Saturday and Sunday, there will be food tastings, wine pairings, cooking demonstrations and presentations by vintners.
This event benefits the Friends of the James Beard Foundation and the Endowed Scholarship Fund of the Culinary Institute of America.
