High Wind Warning in Effect

A high wind warning is in effect until Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Moderate to strong gusty west winds in the mountains and deserts visited Riverside County today and will stay in the area through early Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

West winds will blow 25 mph to 40 mph, with gusts of 60 mph in the mountains.

The strongest winds will be through and below the Banning Pass, as well as north of Thousand Palms, the NWS said.

On Monday night, gusts of 65 mph are expected, according to the NWS.

Areas of blowing dust and sand could locally reduce visibility to near zeo at times, the NWS stated.

Driving could be difficult, especially in high-profile vehicles.
