Sunday, June 26, 2011

1:20 a.m.: Officers responded to night club, 74855 Country Club, reference a large disturbance and arrested Richard Opler, 28, of Seattle Washington for public intoxication.

2:30 a.m.: Palm Desert Officers returned to the , 74855 County Club, reference several Civil Evictions. Officers took custody of Jeronimo Gil, 34, of Redondo Beach, who was detained and placed under citizen’s arrest for
battery on hotel security.

Result of in the city of Palm Desert. A total of 827 cars passed through the checkpoint, with all 827 cars being screened. Two drivers were arrested for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs, and 16 field sobriety tests were conducted. Additionally, two drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol by traffic enforcement officers, unrelated to this checkpoint. Six drivers were arrested for driving while unlicensed or suspended and 7 vehicles were impounded.  

The following individuals were arrested for DUI:  

Zachary Abrams, 24, from Hamden, CT. 
Laura Gloria Bowser, 48, from Cathedral City. 
Richard Edward Ryder, 42, from Bermuda Dunes.
Robert Sheets 48, from Mekenna, WA. 

4:56 p.m.: Officers responded to the located on the corner of Washington Street and Avenue of the States in reference to a man down call. Michael Jester, 42, of Indio was arrested for public intoxication.

8:15 p.m.:  Officers responded to Monterey Avenue south of Dinah Shore Drive in reference a two vehicle traffic collision. Zachary Abrams, 25, of Los Angeles was arrested for driving while intoxicated. 

9:30 p.m.: Officers responded to 74675 Hwy 111 () and arrested Suzanne Wiemar, 58, of Tulsa Oklahoma for public intoxication.

4:10 p.m.: Officers arrested Christopher Owen Jaye, 29, of Palm Desert for possessing methamphetamine and parole violation. Also arrested was Todd Gilliland, 44, of Palm Desert for possessing mushrooms. The arrest occurred at California Avenue and Warner Trail. 

4:52 p.m. Officer and a C.P.S. worker responded to the 45000 block of Panorama Way to check the welfare of the family. The residence was deemed unfit for children to live in. Two children were taken into protective custody by CPS and charges of child endangerment were filed on the parents; Shawn Hall, 49 and Marie Cecil, 22,
both of Palm Desert.  

6:22 p.m.: Officers arrested Alana Tanovick, 26, of Palm Desert for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine, at the
43000 block of Texas Avenue.

9 p.m.: Officers arrested Sean Matussek, 24, of Indio for possessing drug paraphernalia at Michigan Ave and Warner Trail.

Wednesday, June 22, 2011  

4:03 p.m.: A Rancho Mirage citizen brought an expended, single use, anti-tank rocket launcher into the Palm Desert Station. The item was purchased out of state without the knowledge that it is illegal to possess in the State of California. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Hazardous Devise Team responded to the Palm Desert Station and took the ordnance for destruction.   

6:14 p.m.: Officers arrested Fred Bambusch, 47, of Desert Hot Springs, for commercial burglary at a gas station located at Hwy 111 and Fred Warning Drive, ().

5 p.m.: Officers arrested Magnolia Hernandez, 21, of Palm Springs for burglary at the 72000 block of Highway 111. 

Monday, June 20, 2011

4:01 a.m.: Officers responded to 73633 Highway 111, (), reference a burglary.  

5:55 a.m.: Officers responded to the area of Florine and Fred Waring reference a found cash register and black box. The register was confirmed to have come from
Keedy's.

9 p.m.: Officers arrested Azucena Diaz Busto, 34, of Desert Hot Springs for shoplifiting at 72840 Highway 111 in Palm Desert.  

9:17 p.m. : Officers arrested Jesse Bird, 31, of Palm Desert for public intoxication at Highway 111 and San Carlos.

1:20 p.m.: Officers responded to a residential burglary on Sonata. The victims arrived home and heard noises in their house. They heard someone exit through the back yard. A Silver Chrysler 300 with paper plates was found in front of the
residence. The VIN was covered with paperwork. Officers learned the vehicle was
stolen out of Cathedral City during a residential burglary on 06/16/2011.

7:59 p.m.: Officers arrested Brian Beechie, 41, of Palm Desert for public intoxication at Highway 74 and El Paseo.

7:40 a.m.: Officers arrested Jack Bent, 43, of Palm Desert for felony DUI, Hit & Run and violation of probation.  

3:30 p.m.: Officers arrested Kevin Botley, 31, of Palm Desert for domestic violence at the 72000 block of Bursera. 

5 p.m.: Officers arrested Kirk Hammond, 21, of Indio for possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia, at the 42000 block of Washington Street.

Tuesday, June 14, 2011  

3:26 a.m.: Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on De Anza and Portola, and arrested Cynthia Fernandez, 57, of Palm Desert, for possession of a methamphetamine pipe, and possession of prescription pain pills without a prescription.
