POLICE BLOTTER: Armed Robbery, Motorcycle Crash
A review of reported crimes from Jan. 5-11 from the Palm Desert Police Department, which is staffed by sheriff's deputies.
Wednesday, Jan. 11
No significant incidents.
Tuesday, Jan. 10
12:57 a.m.: Officers received a call of a past robbery that occurred in an alley near the intersection of Monterey Ave and Fred Waring Dr. On 1/9/12, the suspect pointed a semiautomatic handgun at the victim and demanded money. The victim knew the suspect and could identify if seen again. The investigation is ongoing.
5 p.m.: BSU and the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team continued with the above mentioned robbery. They located the suspect, Carl Love, 34, of Palm Desert in Thousand Palms. Love was arrested for robbery.

Saturday, Jan. 7
8:40 p.m.: Officers responded to Walmart (34500 Monterey Ave) in reference to a report of a robbery which just occurred. Two males, age 16 to 17 years, entered the store, took liquor from the shelf and left the store. Security attempted to detain the subjects and security was punched in the shoulder and pushed by the subjects. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, Jan. 6
1:53 p.m. - Officers responded to a major injury traffic collision on Desert Star east of Portola, Palm Desert. The driver of a westbound Suzuki motorcycle collided with a parked car, resulting in the near amputation of the cyclist's left foot. The motorcyclist was airlifted for treatment.
Thursday, Jan. 5
8:12 p.m.: Officers arrested Bradley Bailes, 45, of La Quinta for commercial burglary. Bailes was captured on video at the Palm Desert Sears committing a theft.
