POLICE BLOTTER: Patio Fires, DUIs and Car vs Tree

A review of reported crimes from July 11 to 17 from the Palm Desert Police Department, which is staffed by sheriff's deputies

12:13 a.m.: Officers responded to a follow up within the 73000 block of Bel Air Road reference a disturbance. Christopher Longo, 35, from Palm Desert, was arrested for violating a restraining order.

1:28 a.m.: Officers responded to the 77700 block of Michigan Avenue reference a disturbance. They arrived to find a male had started a fire on the patio of the apartment using clothing and furniture. The fire caused damage to the apartment building and filled the apartment with smoke. Brandon Lee, 23, from Yucaipa, was arrested for child endangerment, arson, cruelty to animals, and vandalism.

8:13 p.m.: Officers responded to the area of Rutledge Way and Myrsine Avenue regarding a suspicious person. Scott Valeur, 31, from Morongo Valley, was arrested for a felony warrant.

8:24 p.m.:  Officers responded to the area of Hahn Road and Town Center Way reference a past assault. Michelle Papes, 52, from Palm Desert, was arrested for battery after grabbing and hitting a victim at a local area bus stop. 

Sunday, July 15 

12:23 a.m.: Officers conducted a vehicle stop at Highway 111 and Portola Avenue. Grace Minor, 21, from Indio, was arrested for DUI. 

Saturday, July 14 

1:57 a.m.:  Officers responded to a on De Anza Wayand San Pascual Avenue. Yousef M. Odeh, 41, from Palm Desert, was eastbound on De Anza at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree.  Odeh was arrested for DUI. 

Friday, July 13

12:53 a.m.:  Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Avenue of the States and Washington Street. Brandon Matthew Myers, 24, from La Quinta, was arrested for DUI drugs, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe and violation of parole.   Ignacio Ceja Tolento, 29, from Indio, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe and violation of parole.

2:27 a.m.:  Officers responded to a single vehicle, non-injury traffic collision at Highway 111 and Hospitality Lane. Anthony James Chavez, 25, from La Quinta, was arrested for DUI and resisting arrest.

11:00 p.m.:  Officers responded to the 74100 block of Primrose Drive reference a domestic disturbance. Nichole Shetrone, 39, from Palm Desert, was arrested for felony domestic battery from an incident that occurred last week. 

Thursday, July 12

6:20 p.m.:  Officers conducted a pedestrian check in the parking lot at Washington Street and Hovley Lane. A 17-year old juvenile was arrested on an outstanding burglary warrant.

7:24 p.m.:  Officers conducted a pedestrian check at San Pablo Avenue and San Gorgonio Way. Johnny Pantel, 54, from Indio, was arrested on an outstanding felony narcotic warrant. 

Wednesday, July 11 

3:22 a.m.:  Officers responded to the reference an armed robbery. The suspect jumped the Pharmacy counter and brandished a kitchen knife demanding prescription drugs. Following the investigation, Lisa Raquel Mynhier, 36, from Palm Desert, was contacted at her residence and .
