Volunteers Needed For Free Eye Clinic

Eye exams, glaucoma screenings, and other eye disease issues will be provided for the first 300 people and prescription eyeglasses will be provided to those diagnosed with a need.

Martha’s Village & Kitchen, in partnership with the Lions Club and Friends In Sight, will host a free eye clinic for those without insurance on Saturday.

The clinic is set for Feb. 11 from 8 a.m. until noon at Martha's Village & Kitchen at 83791 Date Ave. in Indio.

Eye exams, glaucoma screenings, and other eye disease issues will be provided for the first 300 people and prescription eyeglasses will be provided to those diagnosed with a need, according to MVK's Cameron Bridges.

Five community volunteers are needed to help out on Saturday to register English and Spanish speakers, Bridges said.

After registration is complete, volunteers will help sort eyeglasses and with assistance from the eye care professionals on site, assist with adjustments to glasses once they’ve been fitted.
