Local Massage Envy Spas Raise Nearly $2,000 for Arthritis Benefit

Massage Envy, the pioneer and national leader of professional, convenient and affordable massage and spa services, announced today that the three clinics located in the Coachella Valley, raised more than $1,800 during the second annual Healing Hands for Arthritis.

The one-day national event took place at more than 800 Massage Envy clinics on Sept. 19. Ten dollars from every massage and facial was donated to the Arthritis Foundation to benefit the organization's mission to prevent, control and cure arthritis.

As a network, Massage Envy raised more than $678,000 during this one-day event.

“We are so thankful for the incredible turnout we experienced during Healing Hands for Arthritis this year,” said Holly Nelson Lassak, Massage Envy Spa owner of the three Coachella Valley clinics. “The Coachella Valley really came out in full force to help make this event a big success. Supporting the local Arthritis Foundation Desert chapter is very important to us and we look forward to next year’s event.”

During the event, Murad, Massage Envy Spa's exclusive skin care partner, donated 10 percent of all sales from their products sold at Massage Envy Spas to the Arthritis Foundation. BioFreeze and Wyndmere also donated 10 percent of their retail sales to the cause.

Today, arthritis affects 50 million adults and 300,000 children. By the year 2030, an estimated 67 million or 25 percent of the projected total adult population will have arthritis.

Massage Envy and the Arthritis Foundation share a common understanding about the devastating effects of the disease on the body and the potential for massage therapy to relieve and control certain symptoms. Massage therapy can play an important role in alleviating the pain and swelling caused by arthritis while improving flexibility and circulation, and reducing stress and anxiety.

In addition to hosting Healing Hands for Arthritis, Massage Envy is a national sponsor of the Arthritis Foundation’s other signature event, Arthritis Walk. Massage Envy owners from across the country have and will continue to have a presence at their local Arthritis Walk events to share information about the benefits of massage therapy, provide chair massages and support the Arthritis Foundation’s mission. This year’s event in the Coachella Valley takes place Oct. 25.

The Coachella Valley clinics are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and, Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Palm Desert clinic is located at: 73-111 Country Club Drive at Monterey & Country Club and can be reached at (760) 779-1954.

In La Quinta, the location is 79-485 Highway 111 at Highway 111 & Dune Palms and can be reached at (760) 771-2244.

In Palm Springs, the location is at the Envy clinic, 5200 E. Ramon Road at Gene Autry in Building H and can be reached at (760) 969-4800.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
