Pathfinder Gala to Include Local Talent

Palm Springs Pathfinders has perfect timing when it comes to giving from the heart.

The non-profit's annual gala is planned for February 16, 2013 at Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, CA. Palm Springs Pathfinders is dedicated to raising funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs and Pathfinder Ranch. It's no coincidence that they have scheduled the gala right after Valentine's Day.

"What better way than to share a lovely evening with that special person in your life and know that you can help local children?" commented Roberta Klein, Gala co-chair.

Founded in 1957, Pathfinders is one of the valley's oldest charities. With over 125 members, they host monthly luncheons, raising funds through the annual gala and the generosity of their members.

"We have one event each year to support our cause" noted Aliede Bennett, Board chair. "We take extra time to ensure that participants have a wonderful time and understand that 100 percent of the monies we raise, after event expenses, go to these two important programs. We all want leave a legacy of making the world a little better place. Here, we have a chance to make an immediate impact."

This year's gala, The Love of the Children, starts with cocktails at 6 p.m. and features a silent auction, live auction, and entertainment. Back by popular demand is 13 year-old Palm Desert student and Open Call Finalist, Haley Varela, who spellbound the audience last year.

Pathfinders welcome new members and Angels who share their passion to support our local children. Individual tickets for the event are $200. Angel recognition (preferred seating and program listing) is $500 per ticket. Table options are available to include a table for 12 with ringside seating for a $10,000 contribution.

"We have a spectacular event planned. We invite anyone who has a special place in their heart for children and wants to have a lovely evening with your special someone" said Klein.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
