For this report, more than 1,950 adults and children were surveyed between January and April of 2013 to provide measuring points to determine changes that have occurred since the 2010 study to provide reliable, objective and valid data for health-related government and nonprofit agencies and organizations, professionals and businesses of the area.

The 2014 study focused on issues such as access to healthcare, behavior risk factors and demographics, identifying gaps in health status and services.

The baseline for this information was established in the 2007 study and was updated three years later in the survey released in 2010.

Past studies have been an important resource for organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley, Prevent Child Abuse of Riverside County, Eisenhower Medical Center Foundation, Desert Healthcare District, Coachella Valley school districts and Jewish Family Service of the Desert in establishing viable health-related programs for their clients.
