Blood drives are planned next week in Palm Desert, Indio and Coachella, a spokesman for the not-for-profit Lifestream blood center announced Monday.
Lifestream will be set up at the following times and dates:
- Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday Dec. 28 at Albertsons, 42095 Washington St., Palm Desert, where donors can receive, while supplies last, a $10 Albertsons gift card.
- 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 28 at Kmart, 81691 Highway 111, Indio, where donors can receive, while supplies last, a $10 Kmart gift card.
- 10:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Sunday Dec. 29 at Our Lady of Soledad Church, 52555 Oasis Palm Ave., Coachella, where donors can receive, while supplies last, a free movie ticket.
According to Lifestream spokesman Don Escalante, donors will also receive free cholesterol screening and donor reward points that may be redeemed in the online donor store at www.desertbloodservices.org.
All prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis, Escalante said. Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the donation process.
