Clean-up Continues from Sunday Storm
Rain and high winds leave path of destruction across the valley
Valley residents are cleaning up today, after storms and winds of up to 70 miles per hour slashed through the Coachella Valley Sunday night, leaving downed trees, power outages and heavy rains in its wake.
Reports of damage came from the Salton Sea through Palm Springs, with Palm Desert Police reporting numbers of fallen trees across the city.
The California Highway Patrol closed a section of Interstate 10 from Palm Drive to Date Palm Drive after power lines fell across the freeway. The freeway was closed for approximately two hours overnight.

Southern California Edison says no power outages happened in their service area. Several small outages were reported by Imperial Irrigation District customers in the east valley.
