COD Professor to Give Final Lecture

College of the Desert Biology Professor Chris Totten to give the last lecture in COD's Forum series, and the last in her career.

The College of the Desert ends it’s Forum Series on Wednesday with A Last Lecture by biology profession Mary K. “Chris” Totten. 

Totten is retiring at the end of the semester following a distinguished academic career.  Her Forum lecture is titled “Cells Are My Life and Yours Too!” 

Dr. Jim Berg, Dean, Arts and Sciences, said, “Chris Totten has provided quality teaching at College of the Desert while also serving as a role model for women in science. She has been instrumental in educating future nurses and other health care professionals across the Valley.”

Her works have been published in The Journal of Genetic Psychology and has appeared on Britain’s Channel 4 Television in the documentary “Nervous Fit”. 

Totten’s lecture takes place at the Pollock Theatre on the COD Campus on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.   The public is welcome to the free event.
