Dee Dee Myers Speaking in Rancho Mirage Tonight

Former White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers will speak in Rancho Mirage Wednesday night as part of the city's annual speakers series.

The talk at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower Medical Center will start at 7 p.m. The series began in January with novelist Jackie Collins.

Myers was White House press secretary during President Bill Clinton's first term in the mid-1990s. She was the first woman and one of the youngest people to hold the position. After leaving the White House, she appeared on the NBC political talk show "Equal Time" and was a consultant for the NBC drama "The West Wing." She is a political commentator and contributing editor to Vanity Fair and published "Why Women Should Rule the World" in 2008.

Barbara Pierce Bush and Jenna Hager, twin daughters of former President George W. Bush, will speak to conclude the series on March 19.

Individual tickets cost $60 for preferred seating and $45 for general seating. Admittance to after-parties with each speaker is available for an additional fee.
