Friday Fuel-up: Holding the $4.00 Line
Slight increases this week regionally, but slow to be seen in the desert
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell one-tenth of a cent today to $4.146, one day after rising by the same amount.
Prices in Palm Desert have been seen just over the $4.00 mark.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 1.3 cents
more than a week ago, 28.8 cents higher than one month ago and 21 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

"Local gas prices have risen by nearly 50 cents since July, when
Southland motorists were paying about $3.70 a gallon on average,'' said Jeffrey
Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
"The year-to-date average price for California gas is $4.04, 23 cents
above the 2011 annual average price of $3.81.''
