High Winds Expected Again Tonight

A second straight night of high winds is forecast by the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory has again been posted for the Coachella Valley for the overnight hours, as stronger that normal west winds are expected.   A similar advisory expired at 3:00 a.m. Thursday.   

The new high wind advisory runs through Friday at 3:00 a.m.

Winds in excess of 3 miles na hour were reported this morning along Interstate 10 and at Edom Hill.

The winds are again expected to be strongest near the Banning Pass, and in areas close to foothills.  Drivers all along Interstate 10 are being warned to expect blowing sand and possibly dangerous driving conditions, especially for high profile vehicles.
