Introducing Patch Bloggers

We are looking for fresh voices in the community. Anyone may apply.

Palm Desert Patch welcomed some new members to its family this week – bloggers.

These local residents are taking the time to express their opinions, talk about the community and share their lives.

If you get a chance, make sure to read Irene Neria’s blog about life as a mom in Palm Desert. Her about helping her son get ready for prom has already attracted a lot of sympathetic comments from other parents who are trying to balance everything in life.

Then there’s the video blog of Dennis Daily, a former newscaster who comments on the days events and sometimes does his own original reporting. His post about a veteran protesting against Washington with an unloaded rifle and a Bible made me stop and think about my First Amendment rights. Check it out and share your thoughts.

Another former journalist and Palm Desert resident, Tony Ballew, shares his thoughts on life on his blog. So far, he’s given us rare insight into a man’s suicide at his news station in Ohio more than two decades ago.

And finally, we have blogs by boyfriend/girlfriend duo Michelle Castillo and Kaleb Welch. Both are sharing their photos and stories about life in the valley. Michelle especially wants to highlight what’s happening with the younger crowd, which she believes often gets overlooked in the valley.

Do you have something to say or show? Then become a blogger on Patch. All bloggers are unpaid, but anyone may apply.

Palm Desert Patch is on a mission to recruit fresh voices, and this is a great opportunity to make your voice heard. We want to hear what you have to say.
