Karl Rove Speaking at Indian Wells Event Tonight

Former presidential adviser Karl Rove will speak to a packed house in Indian Wells tonight as part of the Desert Town Hall annual speaker series.

Rove, a political strategist and former deputy chief of staff and senior adviser to President George W. Bush, has more than 20 years of experience in politics. He is a Fox News contributor, a Wall Street Journal columnist and author of the bestseller, "Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight."

The sold-out talk at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa starts at 6 p.m., spokeswoman Chris Martello said.

Before he presided over Bush's 2000 and 2004 campaigns, he was president of Karl Rove + Co., a public affairs firm in Austin, Texas, that worked for Republican candidates, nonpartisan causes and nonprofits. His clients included more than 75 Republican U.S. Senate, congressional and gubernatorial candidates in more than 20 states, according to his website.

This season's final speaker will be pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

The series is sponsored by local companies, organizations and philanthropists. The nonprofit Desert Forum produces Desert Town Hall. Desert Forum invites 150 local high school students to attend each lecture and meet the speaker.
