Living Desert is Open, Unaffected by Federal Government Shutdown

The Living Desert in Palm Desert is open and is unaffected by the federal government shutdown, the attraction's director of park services said Wednesday in a statement.

Here's the announcement from Living Desert staff:

Officials at The Living Desert want residents and visitors to know the government shutdown has NOT affected the park, which is open for business as usual.

"We have been hearing concerns about whether or not The Living Desert is open because of the shutdown, perhaps because National Parks have been affected, but we are open as usual, and encourage the community to come out and enjoy all we offer here at the park," says Kerry Graves, Director of Park Services, The Living Desert.

All of The Living Desert’s programs are running on schedule. The daily schedule includes Giraffe Feeding at 10:00 a.m., the Wildlife Wonders Show at 11:00 a.m., and Animal Presentations at noon and 3:00 p.m. Plus, all of the wildlife exhibits, gardens and special attractions are open. Everyday is awesome at The Living Desert!
