Local Eatery Hosting Fundraiser for Victims of Hurricane Sandy

A benefit concert is planned for Monday, Nov. 12, at Stadium House in Rancho Mirage and will feature live entertainment and a fashion show, among other things.

A Rancho Mirage restaurant and sports bar will host a concert Monday to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Local bands and performers will participate in the concert at Stadium House, 69640 Highway 111, and proceeds will go to the American Red Cross for relief efforts on the East Coast, concert chairwoman Stephanie Greene said.

She said "a group of concerned valley residents" banded together over the past several days to organize the concert. Attendees will be asked to make a minimum $10 donation. A fashion show featuring local shops and models from PS Models is planned, and raffle tickets will be sold, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross.

Stadium House will also collect canned goods on Nov. 12 for FIND Food Bank, to replace supplies recently sent to the Eastern seaboard. A "Hurricane Sandy" menu will be served for lunch and dinner, with 20 percent of beverage and food charges going to the Red Cross, Greene said.

The concert will be emceed by Patti Gribow, Patrick Evans and Jim Fitz, and live entertainment will include Penny University, The Arrangements, Nicky Vallee, Shaken Not Stirred and the Two Twelve Band.

VIP tickets are also available for $100 for a private area and $50 for "premiere" concert seating. Tickets are available at www.stadium-house.com.

For information, call Greene at (760) 773-1707 or email stephanie@fgcreative.com.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
