The Rancho Mirage Public Library will host a new summer walking program starting Monday.
During "Walk With the Stars," people can take laps around the perimeter of the library's air-conditioned community room. All are welcome, including people with disabilities and caregivers, city spokesman Robert Barrett said.
Mayor Iris Smotrich said walkers will often be joined by "local celebrities" and City Council members.

"Walk With the Stars" will be available through Sept. 26, 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday.
