Looking Back On A Palm Desert Safari

Treat your children to an experience of a lifetime with the Living Desert's Starry Safari.

When my daughter was 7 years old we spent one of our notorious mother-daughter dates at the overnight for a starry safari. We partnered up with another mom and her daughter and shared the experience. There was nothing more powerful than us two independent women taking our two little girls on an adventure such as this.

The afternoon and evening included education on desert animals, up close and personal glimpses at the cheetahs, owls and other species on the premises, a sundown hike through the landscape, a campfire and s'mores and sleeping overnight in a tent just like our own private wild. We slept like babies in the Living Desert's plush tents on provided pads (only needing to bring our own sleeping bags).

For my daughter, it was one of the best overnight activities of her life that she talks about to this day. For me, the best thing was that I didn't have to spend a lot of money to give her this experience, and, it was in our own backyard!
