Make a Smoothie on a Bike as Humana Stops By La Quinta Farmers' Market

If you stop by the certified farmers' market in La Quinta on Sunday, you'll be able to take advantage of some of the Humana Well-Being Tour perks-- like stationary bikes outfitted with blenders that activate as you pedal.

Have you ever made a smoothie while pedaling on a bike?  Well, as odd as it may seem, you can do just that this weekend in La Quinta.

As the Humana Challenge golf tournament rolls into town, organizers are hosting a series of healthy initiatives in the Coachella Valley.  On Saturday, they were hosting a well-being walk and healthy fun fair, and on Sunday, they'll be out at the La Quinta farmers' market.

According to Humana representatives, attendees will be able to enjoy fresh food, music and culinary entertainment at Sunday's event-- along with the Humana "Well-Being Tour."

"Vendors at the farmers’ market are regionally based within the Coachella Valley area and many produce organic and spray-free products," representatives said.  "Featured items will include fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, honey, eggs, nuts, herbs, bread, cheese, organic meats and others, all of which are provided by community-based growers and producers."

One of the Humana Well-Being Tour highlights are the smoothie bikes, which will be on site, and at your disposal.
