Vets Offered Free Admission to Humana Challenge

A hospitality pavilion at a La Quinta golf course will play host to the active and veteran military and their families in a Military Appreciation Day.

Veterans are now eligiable to get free admission to this year's Humana Challenge Golf Tournament.

In previous years, active duty, military reserves and retirees could get in for free, but this year that offer has been extended to veterans as well, organizers tell Patch.

Humana Military Outpost – a hospitality pavilion at a La Quinta golf course  -- will play host to military and their families in an appreciation day during one of the Valley's biggest golf tournaments.

The Jan. 19, 2013 Humana Military Appreciation Day will be held during the Humana Challenge Golf Tournament.

There will be a color guard, a military jet flyover and complimentary food and beverages, as well as patio seating overlooking the tournament golf action.

There will also be on-course family fit areas and interactive activities, according to organizers.  Humana Pavilion is at PGA West, 55-955 PGA Blvd., in La Quinta.

Veterans will get free admission to the Humana Challenge -- set to run from Jan. 17-20-- only if they pre-register.  To do that, they must contact Amanda Croteau at(760) 346-8184 or  ACroteau@HumanaChallenge.com.

Daily grounds passes normally run $39, according to Croteau.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
