Monday Essentials for Palm Desert and the Coachella Valley

Here are several things to know about what's going on this week in Palm Desert, the Coachella Valley and elsewhere in Riverside County.

1. The Veterans Day holiday is Monday. Most government offices will be closed, along with many colleges and some businesses. Check before you head out.

2. There is a Veterans Day ceremony at Civic Center Park  at 11 a.m. Monday Nov. 11.

3. There is an Art in Public Places Commission Meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 13 at the Civic Center.

4. There is a Housing Commission meeting at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 13 at the Civic Center.

5. There is a meeting of the Public Safety Commission at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 13 at the Civic Center.

6. There is a Yoga Class scheduled at 5 p.m. Friday Nov. 15 at the District Education Center North Building, Room 203, 47-950 Dune Palms Road.
