TRAFFIC ALERT: Plaza Way Closed at 111

The city of palm Desert will be completing work on the Highwya 111 at Plaza Way intersection on Monday and Tuesday.  Access to southbound Plaza Way will be closed.

This is to allow workers to complete removal of the deep cross gutter at the southern juncture of the two streets. 

Motorists on eastbound Highway 111 will still be able to access Plaza Way by turning right at Highway 74, turning right again on El Paseo, and then turning right onto Plaza Way. 

Motorists on westbound Highway 111 can get to Plaza Way by turning left on El Paseo and then left again on Plaza Way.

According to City Spokesman David Hermann, the project will provide continous sidewalks on the south side of 111, modify the westbound Highway 111 left turn lane to Plaza Way, and eliminate the deep cross gutter at Plaza Way on the south side of Highway 111.

Normal access to Plaza Way is scheduled to re-start on Wednesday.
