Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to Light Tree This Sunday

The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place atop the tramway station, on Sunday, Dec. 2, officials announced.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will once again brighten up the Coachella Valley sky when they flip the switch this weekend on their giant Christmas tree.

This year's celebrity tree lighter is singer and actor James Darren of Gidget and T.J. Hooker fame (along with his extensive resume).

"The festivities begin at the Mountain Station at 5:30pm with the Palm Springs High School Choir singing a selection of holiday songs," Tram Spokeswoman Lena Zimmerschied said.
