Palm Springs Tops National Travel List
The list from TripAdvisor puts Palm Springs at No. 1.
The travel website TripAdvisor today named Palm Springs the most affordable destination for vacation rentals.
The site's TripIndex compares the cost of a summer trip for a family of four in 15 U.S. locations, including the combined average price of a weeklong stay in a two-bedroom vacation rental, a one-day bike rental, groceries, and dinner at a restaurant, according to a statement from TripAdvisor.
Palm Springs was listed as the most affordable destination at $1,256, followed by Orlando, Florida, at $1,268.

"With sizzling summer temperatures in Palm Springs, the TripIndex reveals that travelers can discover cool prices in the desert for budget- friendly vacation rental stays," said Brooke Ferencsik, TripAdvisor's director of communications.
In the past year, Palm Springs and local hotels have won several TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice awards, according to the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism.
