PHOTO: Sunnylands Gardens in Full Bloom

The Sunnylands organization says that many of the plants are in full bloom right now, and encourage locals to check out the gardens.

Check out this stunning photo of the Sunnylands gardens, sent to Palm Desert Patch on Thursday.

"The canopy of Palo Verde trees that surround the Great Lawn at Sunnylands Center & Gardens are showing off their true colors," an email from the organization stated.

The gardens, located at the The Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands, are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., each Thursday through Sunday through June 30.  There is no cost to enter the gardens.

According to the organization, right now many of the desert plants are in full bloom or "fast approaching their full display of springtime color."

"It is a great time to visit and take a walk through the Gardens along the 1.25 miles of paths," the group said.

Sunnylands Center & Gardens is located 37977 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage.  Visit www.sunnylands.org for more information.
