Grant Virgin Under Sedation at an LA Hospital

The Palm Desert teen is in a coma at a Los Angeles area hospital after being struck by car Monday night.

This story was last updated at 2:02 p.m.

16-year old Grant Virgin is recovering under sedation, after being while walking on Deep Canyon drive just north of Fred Waring Drive on Monday night.

The Palm Desert high sophomore has undergone at least two surgeries and remains in the pediatric intensive care unit at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center today, according to a Facebook post by his mother JJ, a fitness and nutrition expert.

"He is fighting to wake up, moving his arms and legs, which is a good
sign. They had some trouble keeping his intracranial pressure down (pressure in
his brain) so they have to keep him sedated,'' she wrote.

Virgin suffered multiple fractures, a brain injury and a torn aorta. The
woman was going about 40 mph when she hit Virgin, who was walking near his
house, according to a post on his mother's website.

Investigators are looking for a Hispanic female suspect that was driving a late model white compact with major front end damage.

Excellent comment Jolie! I hope this woman comes forward, I'm sure she is scared to death by now with all the news coverage this has gotten! But it is going to weigh heavier and heavier on her conscious the longer she waits!

I have been in the coma before from car accident, and I know what it is like, and the mistake most people do in order to try to get their loved ones back to them, which often triggers the opposite to occur. I had 1 near-death experience at age 12 where I experienced being in the coma, and I talk about it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W6I1-MkeaY. First thing never to do: to cry, to beg the person to come back to them, to express any feelings of sadness, and so forth. One has to be extremely gentle with one in the coma. They are between here (gravity, pain, suffering of earth, and the LIGHT). It hurts me most when I see loved ones begging their children to come back to them. If only they knew that by doing that, the one in the coma is pushed toward the LIGHT ! I would like to gift Grant's parents with a CD that has helped others to wake up from coma before. Thank you.

I am praying for Grant's complete healing and recovery and I believe that God answers prayer. I am also praying that the individual who hit Grant and left him to suffer will be arrested very soon. I am praying that God will convict this person, that her conscience will become so heavy and unbearable that she will have no choice but to turn herself in. She may think she is hiding, but she can't hide from God. He knows who she is and where she is. There are also thousands of us praying and our prayers are far more powerful than this person's "hiding skills". We also serve a mighty, powerful and awesome God who answers prayer. Grant WILL recover, and this woman WILL be caught.

...thanks for your OPINION. but I believe it's ultimately up to the family to decide how to feel, or show support for one another. NOT some stranger's OPINION.
