Talk to Santa: Desert Recreation District Hosting "Santa Hotline" This Week

Kids can call a special hotline three days this week to talk to Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves Frosty the Snowman and others.

Just because Santa lives in the North Pole doesn't mean that our kids can't talk to him!

The Desert Recreation District is once again hosting their "Santa's Hotline" on Dec. 18, 19, and 20.  The Indio-based organization has hosted the annual event for the last 15 years, and they encourage children to call in from all over.

Last year, a total of 2,325 calls were received by the holiday troupe-- coming into the call center from as far away as New York, organizers tell Patch.

By calling the number, kids can talk live to Santa, Mrs. Claus, The Elves, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph & his pals.

Santa and his friends will be waiting for calls Tuesday – Thursday from 5p.m. – 9p.m.

All you have to do is call the toll-free number: (877) Santa4Kids or (877) 726-8245.

It's all made possible thanks to dozens of volunteers, donating their time.  Adults looking to help Santa out with the hotline are encouraged to call the Desert Recreation District at (760) 347-3484.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
