Time's Running Out! Palm Desert Residents Asked to Vote on City's Newest Public Artwork

The City is scheduled to purchase one of the sculptures from the current 2013/2014 El Paseo Invitational Exhibition.

With only two weeks left to vote, time is running out for art lovers and anyone else who would like to share their opinion to help choose Palm Desert’s newest public art piece.

The City is scheduled to purchase one of the sculptures from the current 2013/2014 El Paseo Invitational Exhibition. This year, for only the second time in the Exhibition’s 18-year history, the public has been asked to identify which sculpture, of three exhibition artworks under consideration, the City should purchase.

Voting is easy and convenient. Visit www.palmdesertart.org for instructions and information about Palm Desert’s vibrant Art in Public Places program or simply email the title of your favorite sculpture to dschwartz@cityofpalmdesert.org prior to the contest’s conclusion at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. Participants can cast one vote per person and the City reserves the right to decline to purchase a sculpture. The three sculptures in the contest were identified as candidates for permanent acquisition by the City’s seven-member Art in Public Places Commission.
