TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Closures Planned on Monterey For Next Several Weeks
City officials say the closures are due to median landscaping work in the area.
The following is a traffic advisory from the city of Palm Desert:
Beginning Wednesday, July, 9, a median landscaping project will cause periodic closures of the number one (fast lane) on northbound and southbound Monterey Avenue between Country Club and Dick Kelly drives for the next six weeks.
Lane closures will take rush hour traffic patterns into account with no scheduled lane closures on northbound Monterey before 8:30 a.m. and no scheduled lane closures on southbound Monterey after 2:30 p.m.Overnight lane closures are not expected.

Delays are possible during construction hours and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes such as Portola Avenue and Bob Hope Drive.
