The Western Motor Home Association started its 26th annual rally, dubbed "Dog Patch USA," in Indio on Wednesday.
The gathering, scheduled Jan. 8 through Jan. 12 at the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival grounds, includes entertainment, a parade, a women's tea and fashion show, seminars, exhibits, socials and a pet fashion show, according to organizers.
Motorhomes were planned to be on display starting at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, and displays and exhibits are expected to open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, according to organizers.
The parade is scheduled at 4 p.m. Thursday.
The Desert Sun reported that at least 1,300 motorhomes are expected for the gathering.
The Western Motor Home Association is part of the Cincinnati-based Family Motor Coach Association, an international group for people who own and use motorhomes. The FMCA has more than 80,000 member families, according to its website.
