Work to Begin on $7 Million Monterey Interchange Project

The $7 Million project will widen and realign on and off ramp westbound to connect with Varner Road instead of Monterey Avenue and add traffic signal at Varner Road.

The following is a news release from the Riverside County Economic Development Agency:

Coachella Valley Association of Governments, the City of Palm Desert, and Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley will be celebrating the Monterey Avenue / Interstate 10 Ramp Improvement Groundbreaking on Friday April 4, at 9 a.m.

The $7 Million project will widen and realign on and off ramp westbound to connect with Varner Road instead of Monterey Avenue and add traffic signal at Varner Road.

“Motorists should notice a big difference nine months from now when the project is scheduled to be completed,” said Palm Desert Mayor Van Tanner. “All of us who drive Monterey Avenue know that it is sometimes a challenge to get on westbound Interstate 10,” Tanner said.
