'Argo' Screenwriter Hosts Screening in Palm Desert

The screening was set for 7 p.m., Feb. 20, at Cinemas Palme d'Or in Palm Desert.

Screenwriter Chris Terrio was scheduled to host of a showing of his Academy Award-nominated film "Argo" in Palm Desert Wednesday night and answer questions afterward.

The screening was set for 7 p.m., Feb. 20, at Cinemas Palme d'Or, 72840 Highway 111.

Terrio is considered an Oscar front runner for the best adapted screenplay, and "Argo" is also nominated for best picture. Terrio won the Writers Guild Award for best adapted screenplay on Sunday.

"Argo," directed by Ben Affleck, is about a joint CIA-Canadian secret operation to rescue six American diplomatic personnel in revolutionary Iran in 1980.

Tickets were available at www.fandango.com or by calling (760) 779-0430.  At last check of 11:30 a.m., tickets were still available on Fandango.
