Palm Springs Villagefest

Villagefest is hands down, one of the best events in Palm Springs. Each Thursday night (6pm-10pm October-May, 7pm-10pm in the summer), Palm Canyon Drive turns into a lively (and free!) street fair extrordinaire!

Check out quirky vendor booths selling hand-painted martini glasses, silver earrings, and crazy funky golf clubs. Hungry walkers can snack on grilled corn, frozen lemonade, and hot tamales. Music is a big part of the street fair as well and there are always interesting live acts performing.

Palm Springs shops often stay open late on Thursdays, so you can pop into some of the funkier clothing stores while you stroll along. The Palm Springs Art Museum also offers free admission on Thursdays and is within walking distance of the street fair.

It is a great time to people watch and absorb the atmosphere. You may catch a glimpse of one vendor's tiny pet pig, or see Florence Henderson signing autographs next door to the the "Ask-A-Rabbi" booth. One more bonus: dogs on leashes are welcome!
