Up, Up And Away For Clay Golf Tournament

Up, Up and Away for Clay Golf Tournament April 2 Benefits Old Town Artisan Studio Charity Programs for community organizations such as Boys & Girls Club, Girl Scout Troop 106, The Family Y, La Quinta High School, Desert ARC, and others.

  The tournament, open to the public, will be played at Mountain View Country Club in La Quinta. Registration is at 11:30 a.m. with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, scramble format. The $175 entry fee includes: range balls, carts, golf, contest holes and awards dinner.

“As a special added attraction, we will have a hot air balloon ball drop, which is a lot of fun for participants,” said Dave Ison, Old Town Artisans executive director. “Fantasy Balloons will have a hot air balloon tethered over the 18th fairway. We will drop a bucket of golf balls and the three balls closest to the pin will receive cash prizes, Ison said. The cost is $10 per ball or 3 for $25 or 12 for $100.
