Valley Voices of the Muse Present Poet Wanda Coleman

Celebrating our 8th year, "Valley Voices of the Muse", presented at Barnes&Noble/Palm Desert/Westfield Center monthly, will present Los Angeles Poet WANDA COLEMAN, at their Palm Desert location, HWY 111 at Monterey, from 6:00 to 7:00 p;m. on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd, funded by POETS&WRITERS Magazine, through a grant received from the James Irvine Foundation.

COLEMAN is one of the most prolific Afro-American poets in the Southern California scene, and teaches in the region. Publisher of 19 books of poetry and fiction, including BATHWATER WINE, winner of the 1999 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, the first African-American woman to receive this award, plus MERCUROCHROME, a bronze-medal finalist in the National Book Awards in 2001.

Her most recent book is THE WoRLD FALLS AWAY, 2011. The event is FREE and everyone is welcome. DO COME!.
