Former Marine's Photos To Go On Display In Palm Desert

Photos by a former U.S. Marine Corps veteran will be on display in the Palm Desert Community Gallery later this month.

“In Martial Hues’’ is set to be open to the public May 19 to July 29, with a reception set for May 23 at 5:30 p.m., according to city spokesman David Hermann.

Sgt. Jayel Aheram took the photos – which give an intriguing insight into military life -- while serving with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit in Southeast Asia in 2008.

Aheram, an internationally published photographer, was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in early 2010, according to his website.

He has been featured in more than a dozen exhibitions, including three critically acclaimed solo exhibitions.
