Palm Desert's Free Spring Concerts Start Thursday

The "Spring Concerts in the Park" series launches with a jazz and American tribute group.

A series of free outdoor concerts will begin Thursday in Palm Desert.

The Jennifer Keith Quintet, a jazz and Americana tribute group, will headline the first of the city's weekly "Spring Concerts in the Park" at Civic Center Park, 73510 Fred Waring Drive.

  • May 8: Beatles tribute band Britain's Finest;
  • May 15: country group R Buckle Road;
  • May 22: pop and rock band Instant Replay; and
  • May 29: Palm Desert High School Jazz Ensemble.

Before each 7:30 p.m. concert, Family YMCA of the Desert will lead children's games and activities, Hermann said.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase. Alcoholic drinks and smoking aren't allowed.
