Palm Springs Beats Out San Francisco, Boston For 'Coolest' City for Art Lovers

Eventbrite has named Palm Springs the most "artsy" city in the country, a spokeswoman for the online event service said Monday.

Eventbrite used data on population, number of art events and the amount locals spend on art events "to get a sense of the U.S. cities with highest proclivity for the arts," Eventbrite spokeswoman Lauren Busley said. The event service used data from 2013 and 2014, she said.

In an article posted on Eventbrite's blog about the country's "10 Coolest Cities for Art Lovers," Busley wrote that, with year-round warm weather, "some of the best art in Palm Springs is outdoors. You don't have to visit a museum to see beautiful sculpture, architecture and local artists selling their work in outdoor art shows."

Also making Eventbrite's top five were Santa Monica, San Francisco, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.

Rounding out the top 10, according to Eventbrite, are Seattle, Boston, Miami, Orlando and Denver.
