The 17th annual Palm Springs "Walk of the Inns," which was scheduled to start Thursday, was canceled because of rain.
"We'll decide over the next few days if we can reschedule this for sometime next week," organizers wrote on the event's Facebook page. Updates will be posted on the page and the tour's website.
The self-guided walk and multi-block open house extends to Palm Canyon Drive and the San Jacinto Mountains to the east and west and Tahquitz Canyon Way and Ramon Road to the north and south. Toys are also collected for the Toys for Tots drive.
Participating inns include the Palm Mountain Resort and Spa, the Chase Hotel, Casa Cody, San Giuliano Hotel, Hideaway, Andalusian Court, Old Ranch Inn, Korakia Pensione, Desert Hills, Palm Springs Tennis Club and Spencer's Restaurant, the Palm Springs Woman's Club, Del Marcos Hotel, Viceroy Resort and Spa and Citron Restaurant, Calla Lily Inn and the McCallum Adobe at the Village Green.
