Flash Flood Watch for Coachella Valley

Forecasters say monsoon storms could develop this afternoon, bringing possible heavy rains

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Coachella Valley, and most of Inland Southern California for this afternoon and evening.

NWS forecasters believe that afternoon heating and a deep moisture layer will combine for potentially large slow moving thunderstorms.  If that happens, very heavy rainfall and flash flood conditions will exist.

The same conditions brought occcasional very brief showers to desert cities on Wednesday.
