TRAFFIC ALERT: Fred Waring at Phyllis Jackson
City work will bring traffic at a busy intersection to a crawl Wednesday and Thursday.
Drivers are being advised that signals will be out at Fred Waring Drive and Phyllis Jackson Lane Wednesday and Thursday.
City crews will be installing new signal pole foundations, closing traffic on the curbside lane of eastbound Fred Waring Drive. The center lane on eastbound Fred Waring will also be closed intermittently, according to Palm Desert City spokesman David Hermann.
The intersection will be controlled by temporary stop signs in all three directions.

Hermann say drivers should plan alternate routes or allow extra driving time if passing through the intersection.
