The La Quinta Ralphs on Washington Street is clean, sharp and organized. The employees have been friendly and helpful for the four years we have shopped there.
Returns are handled easily also. The La Quinta Village Ralph's, thogh smaller and older has been equal in every other respects to the washington Store.

The poll didn't single out specific locations, and we all know some chains have great locations. We might be lucky if we have the "good ones" around.

Albertson's I found to be poorly managed and staffed, surprised it did not make the list.

I found The Ralphs here are good, but high in price, Albertson are not as clean as should be, and service is not good, I like Vons and Stater Bros. Although all stores are under staffed at the check out. Trader Joes is the best at everything. Limited on what is carried, but what they have is excellent. M.Keane

I don't like stater bros, they checkers don't acknowledge you and they don't seem to know where everything is. I like Vons, they say your name at the end of the visit and they ask you to show you where items are. I have never shopped at Ralphs, way to high in price.

My Ralphs in Indio (50th and Jefferson) is clean, well staffed and friendly. They are just not as cheap as Walmart which is dirty, understaffed and generally indifferent. These surveys are very generalized and quite surpised that Albertsons which is way overpriced, understaffed (if you can find anybody except those wanting to take your money) and not very clean, is not on the list. Like most corporates nowadays you have to judge them store by store, region by region... I use Besty Buys, Panera in the Valley but in other regions In wouldn't set foot in them.

right on Maria & Quinton! Both excellent comments and could not agree with you more!

Ralph's on Sunrise is one of the unfriendliest markets I have ever been in. Employees are very disgruntled, management is really unconcerned and their prices are way out of line. Stater Bros on Landau and Vista Chino is the greatest market I've ever been in.. I must admit, I do buy canned goods at Walmart. Prices can be 35-40% lower than Stater Bros and much more compared to Ralph's

My Ralph's on Cook and Country Club is always clean, well managed and very friendly staff! They are quick to open up lanes when there are more than 3 in line. I don't mind paying the little extra for the convenience of close to home.

Ralph's Bermuda Dunes is also very clean, the staff and management are very friendly, and we find their prices on a lot of things we need to rival WalMart and other bigger stores....

I like Ralph's on Washington St. and the one on Jefferson/50th very much. WalMart is fine except checking out is a nightmare and often the staff does not know where anything is; they only have the dreaded plastic bags....not a pleasant experience so I rarely go there. Trader Joe's is too limited in what they carry to be categorized in the large supermarket group, in my opinion. I am not a regular there for that reason. I wish we had a Gelson's; they are my very favorite. Whole Foods is a close second but again, often do not carry everything I need. Ralph's prices are ok for what they have to offer and compared to other stores in the area. Pavillion's at Gerald Ford/Bob Hope is also on my good list!

@B.K.-- Thank you for your help with the community :) I have a great respect for all teachers!

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
