Airline to Launch Seasonal Travel from Palm Springs Airport

Virgin America will launch a seasonal Saturday non- stop flight between Palm Springs and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport this week, the airline announced today.

City and airline officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday at Palm Springs International Airport to mark the flight start-up. Palm Springs Mayor Pro Tem Chris Mills and Virgin America CFO Peter Hunt are expected to attend.

Virgin America's weekly Saturday flight will run through the spring.
