Baby Wipes, Socks Needed For Troops In Afghanistan

The items can be brought to the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce office on Highway 111.

Donations of baby wipes and cotton socks are needed for the Marines of the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment in Afghanistan.

The and the Desert Cities Mitchell Paige Medal of Honor Chapter, 1st Marine Division Association have teamed up to collect the items, according to Andy Mueller, the chamber’s director of communications.

The socks should be cotton and mid-calf high. Marines use the baby wipes when away from sanitation facilities, according to Mueller.

The supplies will be shipped by the third week of June, he said.

The donations can be dropped off at the Palm Desert Area Chamber office at 72559 Highway 111 by Friday June 17 or can be brought to the upcoming Chamber Business Breakfast at on June 14.

It's to bad that what was the greatest nation on the planet now has to ask it's citizens to give donations to the troops! Why are our troops not being supplied with the materials needed to help win a war.
This is really no way to run a war. why! why! why! Our our troops in need on stuff from the public? Shouldn't they have been given ALL THEY NEED FOR MATERIAL SUPPORT???? Shame on the General's running the war!

Do you know who the Commander in Chief is? Don't blame the Generals they only follow orders. Blame the one who went to Irland and UK and drank beer while the people (in the Mid-West) and soldier's suffered.

Mark, the Commander in Chief who first sent our troops to this unwinnable war was former President George W. Bush. Remember he said there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Of course they never found any because there weren't any there in the first place. Then when the statue of Hussein came tumbling down Bush said the war was over and we'd won. As Bush's nose grew, so did the body count.
Present President Obama is trying to do something Bush didn't have the gónadas to do...end this stupid war.

The question is when does it stop? Pres. O is now spent 608 millions dollars in Libya. The ONE who says we want to cut spending is for this action in Libya. Action not war (Ha Ha). didn't we hear this before (not a war but a "Conflict". Regards what you call it. Its wasting lots of money and for what? Oh another thing, troops don't need socks and BABY WIPES come on man. They need help when they get back. Maybe spend millions on them the VETS. Nice to hear from you Tony, an ex 82nd Airborne Paratrooper

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
