The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell two-tenths of a cent today to $4.107, the 17th decline in 19 days.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 1.5 cents
less than one week ago and eight-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago but 24.4 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has decreased 4.8 cents over the past 19 days,
including four-tenths of a cent on Thursday. "There's been a big dip in oil
prices in the last week, but that hasn't yet made it's way to the pumps,'' said
Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California. "For the last
two to three weeks, bargain shoppers have been able to pay pump prices that are less than $4 a gallon.''
Prices in Palm Desert have been seen as low as $3.98 recently.
