JOB FAIR: American Cab Seeks Local Drivers

At a time when many companies are announcing job cuts, American Cab is holding a job fair to recruit more than 20 new drivers. The fair takes place on Thursday, June 14th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the company’s corporate facility in Thousand Palms.  Anyone interested in the available job positions can stop by and learn more. Insurance requires drivers be 23 years of age or older. 

“We’re in expansion mode right now, and it’s great to be in a position to add new jobs at a time when many Californians are looking for work,” said Harry Incs, General Manager of American Cab. “We invite anyone who might be interested in driving for American Cab to come out to our Job Fair so we can share more about the process.” 

The process for new drivers is as follows:

• H-6 from DMV
• Insurance approval
• Drug Testing Enrollment (95.00 -1 year membership)
• Drug Testing (pre-paid above)
• Appointment with SunLine for review and fingerprinting, paperwork and background check
• Upon receipt of permit - training on the job for 10 hours in a cab with a working driver 

The entire process takes 4-5 business days. All drivers are independent contractors, however, they must adhere to SRA regulations and CA DOT laws, as well as specify if they will work day or night shifts.
