Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce staff are planning two events next week: a business breakfast at Desert Willow and a networking mixer at the PGA Tour Superstore.
The business breakfast is scheduled at 7 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 14 at Desert Willow Golf Resort's clubhouse, Katie Stice of the chamber said Thursday.
"Kim A. Wilcox, Chancellor, University of California Riverside, will be giving an update and report, including future growth and programs," Stice said in an announcement.

The networking mixer is scheduled 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 15 at the PGA Tour Superstore on Highway 111.
"Come to mix, mingle, network and enjoy Tommy Bahama refreshments at the new store," Stice said. "There will be a Putting Contest for store gift cards, 20% off of apparel that evening ONLY for mixer attendees, JW Marriott Spa booth and plenty of excitement!"
The cost is $5 per person for members and $25 for guests and potential members, and a cash bar, Stice said. The PGA Tour Superstore is at 72280 Highway 111, Palm Desert.
